Mission Statement:
Girls Choice Magazine has been created by two moms who care about girls and want to see more positive influences for girls in general. Our magazine is intended for girl’s ages 7-12. It is written for girls, with help from girls.
We aim to support all girls (in this age range) in ways that no other magazine is doing. Girls should understand that they should not be labeled. THEY decide if they’re athletic, trendy, preppy, somewhat “tom-boyish”, or all or none of the above; they should not let their friends decide what “clique” they fit into, if any. We want them to understand they are individuals, unique and special. We encourage them to be comfortable with themselves and the choices they make. Most of all, we encourage them to form their own opinions and be confident!
Girls from 7-12 are faced with many challenges; we’d like to help them find their way through them. We believe that our magazine can show girls that even though sometimes life is hard, there are ways to get through it. Our plan is to help prepare them for the real world without crossing any lines.
Children of this age should be learning to problem solve on their own, while also being comfortable asking for the advice of a parent or mentor. We plan to promote children to “BE CHILDREN”. There will be no stories about boyfriends, first dates, kisses, or major crushes. We want to encourage girls to make their own choices and choose them wisely.
Girls Choice encourages girls to focus on their strengths and be proud of their abilities. They will be encouraged to try new things, find their own identity, and maintain their individuality as they grow up.
The mission of Girls Choice is to be informative, fun, exciting, and educational. Most of all, we strive to show young girls that they are all special!
Each edition will include surveys, contests and opportunities for our readers to respond to their peers, giving advice and asking questions. Our Special Sections (Art, Sports, Academics, Culture, Individuality, Fashion and Health) will provide fresh and up to date information to meet the ongoing needs of our readers.
